X³: REUNION

X³: REUNION immerses the player into the most realistic, living universe, ever experienced.

NEXT GENERATION OF THE X UNIVERSE - X³: REUNION

The Sequel to the award winning X²: The Threat will introduce a new 3D engine as well as a new story, new ships and a new gameplay to greatly increase the variety in the X-universe. The economy of X³: Reunion will be more complex than anything seen in the X-universe before. Factories are being built by NPCs, wars can affect the global economy, NPCs can trade freely and pirates will behave far more realistically.

The Technology
Extensive development has gone into the X³ engine, making full use of DirectX 9 technology, to create dramatic visual effects and stunningly realistic starships. Coupled with the massively enhanced A.L. (Artificial Life) system, X³: REUNION will present players with an ever changing, evolving universe; where a player's actions really can shape the future of the universe.

The Feature
Newcomers will enjoy the additions to the already graphically impressive, almost living X³-Universe, while veterans can expect new construction options and an improved physics model.

The Story
What happened so far: While the Argon fleet is stretched almost to breaking point by the continuing attacks from Khaak, a new enemy is stalking the X-universe. What links a mysterious ship with the power to disappear, the ruthless Yaki pirates and a machine left by an ancient species? It's time to strap yourself in, warm up your laser cannon and get some answers.

27.Nov.24 What’s Next for X4? An Early Look into 2025
The 25th anniversary year for the X series is rapidly approaching its end, and it’s been a few months since 7.10, our last major update for X4: Foundations, launched in August. Those familiar with our development journey will already know that this apparently quiet period actually means that behind the scenes we’re working hard on future developments. At such times we’ve always tended to be a bit more cautious in our public communication, to avoid setting expectations that may turn out to be unrealistic. Our highly iterative development process, and the shifting plans that lie behind it, often mean that we can’t predict exactly what will happen and when....

19.Aug.24 Important Update for X4: Foundations Players Regarding GOG Cloud Saves
We would like to bring to your attention an important update from GOG that will affect Cloud Save functionality for X4: Foundations. Starting August 31st, 2024, GOG is implementing new storage limits for Cloud Saves. This restriction limits the available space for Cloud saves to 200MB per game, i.e. 200MB for all saves for that game combined. This change could result in the deletion of your save files stored on GOG's Cloud if they exceed this limit....
